The world is a much smaller place today than it was 100 years ago, flying makes travelling quicker and the internet makes information instantly accessable. With the two combined, finding a dentist in Latvia and booking an appointment under your private dental insurance plan can be done within half an hour. Probably faster than locating a dentist in your area in the UK.
Silly? Well yes but not uncommon, private dental insurance has been providing relatively quicker treatments and surgery far faster than their public owned counterparts for decades. In America this was due to affordability, in the UK it’s down to waiting lists and urgency as well as cost.
These days businesses, private health insurers and brokers can sign up to dental tourism insurance plans to offer quick access to their employees on a whole range of dental and medical tourism treatments and surgery.
A dental insurance plan need not only be for the UK, in fact it has been found that a great many people requiring dental treatment enjoy the prospect of visiting another country to get work done on their teeth if it means it can be done quicker and for less money than in the UK.
Private dental insurance is no longer simply a choice of UK high cost dental practitioners, dental tourism and dental insurance is now an open opportunity to get your teeth checked, treated and cosmetically changed at a wide variety of destinations across Europe and indeed the world. From Romania to Latvia and Hungary.
It’s not always convenient to fly away and leave the family to have an operation and private dental insurance, many plans still cater for the UK only. However when shopping around and making comparisons, dental tourism as a private dental insurance plan choice should be considered for lower costs and quicker access. Don’t sit in pain, get on a plane.

There are many costs to consider when bringing up children, so many that it can be compared to running a small football club by the time they leave home. From clothes to fees for activities, food to health but the one thing most tend to forget is dental insurance. Until of course the time comes that their teeth need straightening at an orthodontist or a tooth falls out when their child falls up the stairs when running.
There’s only so much the tooth fairy can do in these instances and as the rate the fairy company pays out hasn’t changed much in 100 years, it’s unlikely that what is left under the pillow will pay for much work at the dentist let alone the twice yearly check ups. Many parents still forget that the National Health Service doesn’t cover all the fees at the Dentist anymore.
So how do you ensure that when the inevitable happens that your child and indeed the family is covered with the right dental insurance plan to pay for all the work that needs doing and not just the one time? When it rains it pours teeth, if the same work needs doing in the same annual period, will you still be covered?
It’s best to take time out and compare dental insurance plans for the family and see where savings can be made on premiums but not at the cost of the value of work that needs to be carried out.
Parents need to be aware that their children will be in and out of the Dentist twice a year with all sorts of normal and natural teething problems as they get older. It’s best to save money with an annual dental insurance plan than find yourself scraping together at the last minute when your child is in pain.
